Image Watermark Tool — Complete Guide & Instructions

MakeCard Image Watermark Tool stamps a custom text label or your own logo onto any photo — with control over size, opacity, rotation angle and placement, including a tiled pattern for document protection. It is built for marking proofs as “SAMPLE”, tagging property or listing photos, and protecting ID documents before sharing. Everything renders locally, so sensitive images never leave your device.

How to Use Image Watermark Tool

  1. 1 Drop a photo into the dropzone — JPG, PNG and WebP are supported.
  2. 2 Choose the “Text” or “Logo” mode tab at the top of the Watermark panel.
  3. 3 For text, type your watermark (e.g. “SAMPLE / FOR XYZ ONLY”), then set Size and pick a Color; for logos, upload a PNG/WebP/SVG file and set Logo Size.
  4. 4 Tune Opacity (5–100%) and Angle (−90° to +90°) with the sliders.
  5. 5 Pick a Position — Top-Left, Top-Right, Center, Bot-Left, Bot-Right or “Tile” for a repeating pattern.
  6. 6 Select JPG or PNG output and click “Download Watermarked”.

Practical Everyday Use Cases

  • Marking quotation, invoice and artwork proofs as “SAMPLE” before sending to clients.
  • Stamping “FOR XYZ BANK ONLY” across Aadhaar or PAN copies to prevent misuse.
  • Branding property photos with a broker logo before uploading to a portal.
  • Tiling a faint diagonal watermark over portfolio images shared publicly.
  • Labeling before/after job photos with a company name for social media.

Pro Tips for Best Results

  • Use the “Tile” position with ~15–20% opacity for document protection — a single corner mark can simply be cropped out.
  • A slight −30° diagonal angle makes watermarks harder to remove than straight horizontal text.
  • PNG logos with transparent backgrounds blend far better than JPG logos.
  • Keep opacity between 10–25% so the watermark deters theft without hiding the photo content.

Common Problems & Solutions

Lower the Opacity slider or move the position to a corner; switch to tiled mode with faint text instead of one large mark.

The uploaded logo is a JPG — JPG cannot hold transparency. Export or re-save the logo as PNG and upload again.

The Size slider is relative to image dimensions — raise it, or shorten the wording so it stays legible at thumbnail size.

Everything you need to know about using Image Watermark Tool

Upload the image, choose Text mode, type your watermark, adjust opacity and position, then click “Download Watermarked” — no account or payment needed.

For visible branding use 30–50%; for document protection use 10–20% opacity with tiled placement so content stays readable but cannot be reused cleanly.

Yes — switch to Logo mode, upload a PNG (transparency recommended) and scale it with the Logo Size slider before positioning.

For branding, a bottom corner is least intrusive. For protecting ID documents or proofs, use the Tile option so the mark covers the whole image and cannot be cropped away.
